The way Geoffery feels about Schiff is the way I feel about Gary Johnson, Jesse Ventura, and, to a lesser extent, Bob Barr.

Ron Paul not only says things that resonate with me (as the three mentioned above do), but also says them consistently over a long period of time and pays a price for it. He could be a huge lobbyist, the ranking member of a big Congressional Committee, or even a Senator, if only he'd kept his mouth shut about the areas of disagreement he has with the GOP, he could have made himself a major player.

Some of these other guys, OTOH, seem like they're pumping up liberty to get ahead.

Schiff, though, stands to lose a lot of hedge-fund money if he takes his seat.

Come on man, seriously, sister or wife? If it is your wife you get a high five...you also get a high five if it is your sister.

I don't think anyone who tastes power the way someone who gets elected to the Senate does is liable to be completely above corruptibility and opportunism. But Schiff at least understands and adheres to a strain of economic thought that is basically Austrian, and not at some amateur level. He will probably be able to win a debate against anyone else in the Senate on economic issues. I think someone with his level of background and conviction on that area will be hard (though not impossible) for lobbyists and party leaders to convert to the other side even with very tempting offers. To me, that's a huge selling point.

Unfortunately, I so far don't get the impression that he's trying very hard to win. Or if he is, he has some quixotic idea that he can win via an internet campaign without doing all the face to face grunt work around the state, talking to small county GOP groups and being in parades and stuff. Rand, on the other hand, is campaigning like he's in one of the training scenes in a Rocky movie, and it's paying off well for him.

I have to agree with Eric here. And I think Kokesh's campaign is somewhere between the two, though closer to Rand.

Gentlemen (and Lauren), can we please stop hijacking this thread by talking about Peter Schiff and/or Chris Dodd? Let's get this back on track:

Geoffrey, who is this one friend? Any more pics of her?

@ Hearn:
In my defense, I haven't been a part of the Peter Schiff hijack.

This is true, Lauren. You've kept this on topic... and it has been very hot.

The only question is, will Lauren be wearing the bunny suit when she meets her?
